Fairfield

In 2006 Fairfield made Money Magazine’s List of Top 10 Best Places to Live. Founded in 1639, by Roger Ludlow and a small group of men, Fairfield was named for the miles of salt marsh that ran along the coast. Located only an hour’s drive from New York City on the Gold Coast of Connecticut in Fairfield County it is ideally positioned for elegant living. Fairfield offers an abundance of leisure activities for water sport enthusiasts and sun worshippers alike, including five beaches in Southport. There are several beautifully landscaped parks offering picnicking, bicycling, walking and nature study. The town also features a Country Club, Yacht Clubs, golfing, camping and hiking facilities, athletic fields and organized sports leagues. Fairfield also offers a solid education to its student population. Public schools in the area include ten elementary schools, three middle schools, one high school and a learning co-op. In addition there are several private schools plus Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University meet higher educational needs. With lots to offer Fairfield has something for everyone.
